What to do When You Feel Like Giving Up (Part 1):
Looking at my finances, though, I felt like I needed a miracle. But hey, miracles still happen right? If you don’t believe that, check out this video:
Step 1: Decide Not To Give Up. Even If You Need a Miracle.
But as you can probably surmise, I didn’t give up. And I’m really glad I didn’t. Making that decision involved gaining awareness about myself and my business. It also required me to make several mindset changes.
Since that time, I’ve felt that I should share my experience, along with the tips and strategies that helped me keep going. That’s the basis for this series. In it, I’ll outline various steps I went through to keep me going.
I’ve been debating about whether to share my whole thought process, as I’m concerned you may find it boring. But one of my coaches has been encouraging me to be my true self and to share my personal stories. So here goes… you see, I grew up in the South. I remember once being in a bookstore and finding a book on SEC football. On the inside cover it said, “In the South, football is a religion. And Saturday is the holy day.” Yeah, that about sums it up.
So you’ve been forewarned… Since I tend to think in football analogies, you’ll see a few in this series. But I promise I’ll keep them short. And who knows… maybe you’ll be able to relate to these analogies, too.
When I see that replay, I’m amazed. First, it looks like Georgia will intercept the pass, but instead, the ball bounces away. And then there’s the catch. At full speed, it looks like the ball was tipped right into the hands of Auburn’s receiver. But if you watch the replays, it appears that he didn’t even see the ball at first. Then he had to reach back for it. He was off balance, and he juggled it a time or two before finally pulling it in. It really was a miraculous play. (In case you’re wondering, Jordan-Hare is Auburn’s stadium.)
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying you should rely on just a miracle. There’s still a lot you can do. And that will be the subject of the remaining posts in this series.
In the meantime, do you feel like you need a miracle? Why not expect one? Have you experienced a miracle? If so, please share below.
