13 Days In…
I’ve always felt that 13 is a lucky number. I’m not sure why… I think I just decided to take something that everyone else thinks is unlucky and make it lucky for me.
Today is the 13th day of the New Year. So… how are those resolutions coming?
The truth is, I’ve stopped making resolutions. That’s because I’ve found a better way, thanks to one of my business coaches, Christine Kane. She says resolutions don’t work because they only address the “DO” level of your life. It doesn’t address your core — the “BE” level. Instead, she suggests you pick a word that will become your “touchstone” for the rest of the year.
I did this last year when I chose the word “Momentum,” and I really learned from it. Throughout 2013, as I worked on various projects I’d remember “Momentum” and do what I needed to in order to keep the momentum going.
This year, my word is “Commitment.” I can already see it making a difference, and I’ll be sharing how as the year progresses.
Are you ready to pick a Word of the Year? If so, download Christine Kane’s Word of the Year Discovery Tool. Work through it, and let me know in the comments below what word you choose.
Let’s make 2014 the best year ever!
